Who Are We?
The Saint Patrick's Trust has two boards of trustees, one in South Africa and one in Ireland. Our boards represent some of the most respected leaders of industry, government and the NGO sector. Having two boards means we are able to have effective input both on the ground in Cape Town, and a strong presence from our European base in Dublin.
We are immensely proud to have Archbishop Emeritus Desmond M. Tutu as our Patron in Chief, and the Irish Ambassador to South Africa, Colin Wrafter, as our Trust Patron.
Our South African Board of Trustees:
Prof. Kadar Asmal: Former Minister and Member of Parliament.
Andrew Boraine: Former Cape Town City Manager, Andrew is now CEO of the Cape Town Partnership and is a former Chairperson of the South African Cities Network.
Ryland Fisher: Ryland is the former editor of the Cape Times and is the executive chairperson of the Cape Town Festival.
Dr. Andrew Golding: Andrew is the CEO of Pam Golding Properties. One of the most respected real estate agencies in Africa.
Frank Gormley: Frank is Chairman of Eurocape and International Housing Solutions and is the founding Trustee of the St Patrick s Trust.
Bob Rightford: Bob is the co-founder of Ogilvy and Mather Rightford Searle-Tripp and Makin, later to become the largest and one of the most respected advertising agency groups in South Africa.
Our Irish Board of Trustees:
Norah Casey: Norah is CEO of Harmonia Ltd, the largest magazine company in Ireland. Nora was awarded the title of Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year for 2007.
Jackie Lavin: Jackie is a former Miss Ireland who is now a successful business woman in her own right. She owns the five star Muckross House in Co Kerry.
Andy O'Callaghan: Andy is a Partner in PriceWaterHouseCoopers and heads up the operations of the African Investment Centre in Ireland. He is President of the Irish South African Business Association.
Donogh O'Riordan: Donogh is Managing Director of Reddy O'Riordan Staehli Architects, a leading architectural design practice with extensive projects across Ireland.
Norma Smurfit: Norma is the doyenne of Irish charity fundraising. She is Chairperson of First Step which she set up in 1991, and is well known as one of the top Irish businesswomen in Ireland.
